1. Read the Command

Read Matthew 28:19 aloud together:

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"

Share the story of Jesus' baptism (Matthew 3:13-17) in your own words:

Jesus came to John the Baptist to be baptized. John hesitated, saying Jesus should baptize him instead. But Jesus insisted, saying it was right to fulfill all righteousness. When Jesus was baptized, the heavens opened, and the Spirit of God descended like a dove. A voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."

God shows us that baptism is important to Him. He was pleased with Jesus' obedience in being baptized, and He confirmed Jesus' identity as His Son through the voice from heaven and the descending Spirit.
