Command 4: Go, Make Disciples

Here is Mark 3:13-19 from the New International Version (NIV):

13 Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him. 14 He appointed twelve that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach 15 and to have authority to drive out demons. 16 These are the twelve he appointed: Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter), 17 James son of Zebedee and his brother John (to them he gave the name Boanerges, which means "sons of thunder"), 18 Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot 19 and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for the example of Jesus and His calling of the twelve apostles. Thank You for showing us how You choose and equip ordinary people to carry out Your extraordinary purposes.

Lord, help us to understand and apply the lessons from this passage. Teach us the importance of being with You, just as the apostles were called to be with Jesus. Draw us into deeper intimacy with You, so that we may be transformed and empowered to fulfill Your will.

Father, we ask for Your guidance as we seek to share Your message with others. Give us boldness to preach the gospel and faith to trust in Your authority over every spiritual battle we face. Help us to walk in the confidence that You have called us and equipped us for Your work.

Lord, we also recognize the diversity of the twelve apostles and how You used each of them uniquely. Help us to appreciate the different gifts and backgrounds within the body of Christ, and teach us to work together in unity for Your glory.

Thank You for calling us to be part of Your mission. May we respond with obedience and humility, trusting in Your power and grace to work through us.
